June 22nd, 2020 Natixis Partners advised the Lagardère group on the sale of Lagardère Studios to Mediawan

As part of its strategic refocusing around Lagardère Publishing and Lagardère Travel Retail, the Lagardère group has received a firm and final offer from Mediawan to acquire the entire share capital of Lagardère Studios.

With revenues of c. €220m, Lagardère Studios is one of the key independent players in content production and distribution in Europe. The Group is present in France, Spain (Grupo Boomerang), Finland (Aito Media) and the Netherlands (Skyhigh TV) and maintains long-term relationships with broadcasters in each of these countries.

With its 25 production labels, the Group has strong brands in drama such as “The Eddy” and “Grégory” which are available on Netflix and “Josephine Ange Gardien” on TF1. Lagardère Studios also produces many successful non-scripted shows such as “C Dans L’Air” (France TV), “Ca Commence Aujourd’hui” (France TV), “Recherche Appartement ou Maison” (M6) or « La Voz » in Spain (Atresmedia).

Lagardère Studios has a recognized expertise in all production models: local productions, international coproductions, format adaptations and corporate and digital creations. Its distribution business also has a deep catalogue of over 10,000 hours.

This contemplated acquisition will be subject to works councils’ consultation and competition authorities approvals.
